The Southern Oregon Mountain Bike Association (SOMBA), is a club devoted to the promotion of the sport of mountain bicycling.

SOMBA addresses the issues that concern mountain bikers. We have sponsored trail building seminars that have brought land managers and trail users together to build new, challenging, sustainable sections of multi-use trails. Many of the newest trails in our area now exist due to SOMBA's efforts.

SOMBA has exposed local riders to unfamiliar trails and new riding partners by organizing and leading group rides off the beaten path. SOMBA has provided competitive as well as non-competitive mountain bike events such as the ''Spring Thaw Mountain Bike Festival.''

SOMBA organizes several mountain bike related social events throughout the year, including mountain bike potlucks and two annual campouts. The SOMBA web site, at www.somba.org, is a valuable resource for keeping mountain bikers informed on local rides, events, and issues. Plus, SOMBA members enjoy special discounts at SOMBA sponsored events and at participating local area bike shops.
